Our History

1971

Our founder Thomas Gluyas launches Thomas Instrumentation.

1975

Thomas Instrumentation relocates to New Jersey and flourishes into a successful small business, engaging in diverse projects like car safety measurement systems, industrial controllers, and smart card systems for vending machines, showcasing its wide-ranging expertise.

2001

Thomas Instrumentation expands its facilities and upgrades the PCB design and manufacturing processes to include Surface Mount Technology (SMT).

2011

The next generation returns to learn from and grow the family business. CEO and engineer, Cassandra Gluyas, with her dual degree from Virginia Tech and experience at Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works, helped propel the company forward. Together, Tom and Cassandra grew the customer base and developed innovations like touchscreen systems, smart appliance controllers, wireless tracking systems, and advanced industrial controllers.

2015

Thomas Instrumentation enhances production quality and efficiency with an entirely new SMT manufacturing line. The upgraded equipment line greatly increased manufacturing capabilities and throughput. It also added Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), X-Ray Inspection, and climate controlled storage towers.

2021 and beyond

The next generation takes over. As Cassandra Gluyas assumes the role of Senior Electrical Engineer and oversees all operations at Thomas Instrumentation, our commitment to excellence remains steadfast. With a legacy dating back to 1971, we have weathered numerous crises with resilience and determination. Amidst the challenges of the COVID pandemic and parts shortage crisis, our forward-thinking approach and strategic planning enabled both us and our clients to thrive. With a proven track record of adaptability and success, we remain steadfast in our promise to deliver excellence to our partners for years to come.
